The Monastery of st.Theodors

This small monastery lies close to the pharaonic temple of Medinet Habu on the West bank of Luxor (and belongs to the Luxor Coptic bishopric). It is a monastery for nuns, and the best time for a visit is on sundays when here is much people. The nuns are hospitable and you will be well received. You may also take pictures from the church as well as the exterior. We came after the service and met many interesting visitors, local ones as well as tourists.

 

The foundation is very old but of modest proportions.
